The Inspiration Behind Do No Harm

Do No Harm is more than a title. It’s a guiding principle. I wrote this book to offer leaders, data professionals, and mission-driven organizations a framework for embedding ethics into the foundation of every data and AI decision.

This work is deeply personal. It was inspired by my late mother, whose grace, resilience, and unwavering moral compass shaped my understanding of justice, accountability, and the power of presence. Through her, I learned that ethics is not an abstract concept. Ethics is lived, modeled, and protected.

My hope is that this book challenges you to rethink what responsible innovation looks like and equips you with practical tools to ensure that your systems, policies, and practices do no harm.
